Stir It Up Chords & Guitar Lesson

Welcome to my Stir It Up chord chart by Bob Marley. Another great song from Bob using only 3 chords, the A, D and E chords.

Again, we will be using a simple reggae strumming pattern here. The simplest way to do this is to use all up strums on the ands as shown below.

Stir It Up Guitar Chords:

Stir It Up Strumming Patterns:

Strumming:
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
...U    U   U    U

Now if you are savy, you can try muting the down strums to really make those up strums stick out.

Strumming 2:
1  + 2 + 3 + 4 +
X U X U XU X U

OR….if you want to get super fancy try throwing in a nice 16th in the mix and use some chickahs. This is easier to do with barre chords but totally doable. I like to do it palm muted with my strumming hand.

Strumming 3:
1 +a 2 +a 3 +a 4 +a
D  UD   U D  U D  U
